Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India] October 7 (ANI). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday extended his heartfelt congratulations to Indian athletes and fellow citizens for the nation's historic achievement of securing a 'century of medals' at the Asian Games.
Terming this accomplishment as the most "thrilling, historic, and extraordinary moment for India," CM Yogi expressed immense pride in the athletes' unwavering dedication, exceptional performance and remarkable achievements at the Asian Games.
It is noteworthy that on the last day of the Asian Games, Indian players won a total of 12 medals including 6 gold. India's overall performance culminated in a record-breaking tally of 107 medals, which included 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze medals. This outstanding feat surpassed India's previous best of 70 medals in the Jakarta Asian Games.
Taking it to X, the CM wrote on his official handle, "The most thrilling, historic and extraordinary moment of India's journey in the world of sports! India has completed a 'century of medals' in the Asian Games. Many congratulations to the countrymen! Hearty congratulations to all those athletes whose efforts have led to this unprecedented achievement! You all are the pride of the country. Jai Hind.'
"Hearty congratulations and best wishes to the Indian team for winning the gold medal in the Kabaddi competition (men's category) of the Asian Games. Congratulations to all the players of the Indian team for this historic victory that makes the country proud."
On the victory of the Indian cricket team playing in the Asian Games for the first time, he wrote, "Hearty congratulations and best wishes to the Indian cricket team for winning the gold medal in the Asian Games!"
For the members of the men's team that won gold for India in an event for the first time in badminton, CM Yogi wrote, "Congratulations to @satwiksairaj and @Shettychirag04 clinching the coveted Gold in the Badminton Men's Doubles finals at #AsianGames! Their incredible teamwork and unwavering spirit have made India proud. Jai Hind!"
CM said, "Congratulations to our women's kabaddi team for creating history with a gold medal at the Asian Games, marking India's 100th medal! Their skill, tenacity & teamwork inspire a new generation of female athletes. A proud moment for us! Jai Hind!"
CM wrote, "Historic achievement in Compound Archery at the #AsianGames. Pravin Ojas Deotale secures the Gold medal, while Abhishek clinches Silver. Heartiest congratulations to both athletes on their outstanding performance! Jai hind!"
Similarly, while congratulating Jyoti Surekha Vennam for winning gold in the women's individual archery event, the CM said, "Congratulations to Compound Archer Jyothi Surekha Vennam for securing the gold medal and Aditi Gopichand Swami for winning bronze medal at the #AsianGames. Your remarkable talent and determination shine brightly.We are incredibly proud of your achievements!" (ANI)
