India's active COVID-19 caseload below 6 lakhs for the first time in nearly 3 months

New Delhi [India], October 30 (ANI): In a significant feat, the active caseload has fallen below 6 lakhs for the first time in nearly three months in India with 57,386 new discharges in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family.

New Delhi [India], October 30 (ANI): In a significant feat, the active caseload has fallen below 6 lakhs for the first time in nearly three months in India with 57,386 new discharges in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family.
As many as 48,648 new cases of COVID-19 infections recorded in the country in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases in the country to 80,88,851 and the death toll has mounted to 1,21,090 with 563 deaths during the same period of time.
The total number of active cases now is 5,94,386 -- 9,301 less as compared to Thursday while the total cured cases stand at 73,73,375.
"The active caseload has fallen below 6 lakh for the first time in nearly three months (85 days). India has registered 5.94 lakh active cases today. The active caseload was 5.95 lakh on 6th August. Presently the active cases comprise only 7.35% of the total positive cases of the country standing at 5,94,386," the Union Health Ministry said.
The difference between active cases and recovered cases is consistently increasing and stands at 6,778,989 today. The national Recovery Rate has progressed reached 91.15 per cent.
80 per cent of the new recovered cases are observed to be concentrated in 10 States/UTs.
A total of 10,77,28,088 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to October 29. Of these 11,64,648 samples were tested Thursday, as per the Indian Council of Medical Research.
On Friday, Maharashtra reported 6,190 new COVID-19 cases, 8,241 recoveries, and 127 deaths, as per the State's Public Health Department.
The state's COVID-19 tally rises to 16,72,858 including 1,25,418 active cases with 15,03,050 recoveries and 43,837 deaths.
In Mumbai, 1,145 new coronavirus cases, 1,101 recovered cases, and 32 deaths were recorded. Mumbai's total caseload reached 2,56,507 including 2,27,142 discharges and 18,438 active cases. The death toll is at 10,218, according to the data by Municipal Corporation, Greater Mumbai.
Delhi reported 5,891 new COVID-19 infections, 4,433 recoveries and 47 deaths reported. The total case tally stands at 3,81,644 including 3,42,811 recoveries, 32,363 active cases and 6,470 deaths.
Karnataka recorded 3,589 new COVID-19 cases, 8,521 discharges and 49 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking active cases to 59,499, discharges to 7,49,740 and death toll to 11,140.
West Bengal's coronavirus tally grew by 3,979 new COVID-19 cases. At present, there are 3,69,671 active cases and the death toll is at 6,784.
Tamil Nadu reports 2,608 new coronavirus cases, 38 deaths and 3,924 discharges today, as per the State Health Department. The total number of cases in the state is now at 7,22,011 including 23,532 active cases, 6,87,388 discharges, and 11,091 deaths.
Madhya Pradesh reported 619 new COVID-19 cases, 12 deaths and 1,074 recoveries today, as per State Health Department. The total cases in the state now at 1,70,690 including 9,294 active cases, 2,941 deaths and 1,58,455 recoveries.
In Haryana, 1,650 new COVID-19 infections and 1,179 discharges were recorded. The state's coronavirus count soared to 1,65,467 including 11,851 active cases, 1,51,839 discharges and 1,777 deaths.
Punjab reported 433 new COVID-19 cases, 577 discharged cases and 19 deaths, taking total positive cases to 1,33,158 till date, including 1,24,870 discharges, 4,101 active cases and 4,187 deaths.
Uttarakhand's coronavirus tally grew by 349 more cases and total cases reached 61,915 including 3,634 active cases, 56,771 recoveries and 1,011 deaths.
Jharkhand reported 323 new COVID-19 cases and 421 recoveries today. The overall state's coronavirus reached 101,287 including 95,208 recoveries, 883 deaths, and 5,196 active cases (ANI)
