Indian Railways takes big leap with Made in India- Train 18

New Delhi [India], Oct 25 (ANI): Indian Railways has taken a big leap in terms of technology and indigenous rail coach development with the soon to be launched Train-18.

New Delhi [India], Oct 25 (ANI): Indian Railways has taken a big leap in terms of technology and indigenous rail coach development with the soon to be launched Train-18.
This semi-high speed train which runs as fast as Shatabdi Express is special and different in more than one ways.
Giving a big push to passenger service, this fully air-conditioned 16-coach train comes with automatic sliding doors, sliding stairs and special wheel-chair commute facility, among others. The train also boasts of two separate cabins for drivers at both ends.
Its special facilities include sliding stairs along with sliding doors for passengers' easy commute. All coaches of Train-18 are equipped with Wi-Fi, infotainment, GPS and bio vacuum systems.
As per Indian railways, greater emphasis has also been given to safety specifications of the train.
Keeping in mind the need of tech-savvy modern day commuters, all air-conditioned coaches of this train have comfortable sockets installed along with plush seats that are rotational depending upon the movement of the train.
A coach has been arranged separately for the easy movement of wheelchairs so that it can cater efficiently to the needs of differently-abled passengers. In addition to this, LED screens and speakers have also been installed in all coaches for passenger information. The overhead luggage space has also been made bigger for a better traveling experience.
As per initial information, 44 to 78 passengers will be able to travel in every coach of this train, which is completely made in India and made for India.
As per reports, the Train-18 is slated to hit the tracks for a trial run on October 29. (ANI)
