India stands ground on Pak's support to terrorists

New Delhi [India], October 30 (ANI): In a hot line interaction between Indian Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General A. K. Bhatt and his Pakistani counterpart on Monday, India stood its ground regarding Pakistan sponsored terrorism in the Kashmir Valley, in response to Pakistan's allegations of India violating ceasefire along the LoC.

The unscheduled DGMO level talks commenced at 2:00 p.m., on a request by Pakistan, wherein the Pakistani DGMO accused Indian security forces of resorting to unprovoked firing along LoC.

According to an official statement, Indian DGMO Bhatt emphatically responded that "the retaliatory firing by Indian troops has only been carried out in response to unabated support given by Pakistan Army to terrorists who infiltrate across the border and target Indian army posts with heavy caliber weapons."

Bhatt countercharged Pakistan of employing civilians at forward posts, alleging that they have been repeatedly used for gaining information of Indian troops' locations and providing guides to the terrorists while crossing the border.

India further clarified that Indian Army always maintains impeccable standards of professionalism and does not target civilians.

Bhatt assured India's resolve towards maintaining peace and tranquility at the border, provided Pakistan stops aiding infiltration at the border, and reiterated that Indian troops will continue to take retaliatory measures against provocative acts of aggression from Pakistan's side in future.
