New Delhi [India], Feb 7 (ANI): A team from Pakistan will be visiting India on March 13 to finalise the modalities for facilitating the visit of pilgrims through the Kartarpur Corridor.
Adding to this, Raveesh Kumar, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs tweeted, "For the expeditious realisation of #kartarpurcorridor, India has also proposed technical level discussions between engineers on both sides without waiting for the discussion on the modalities. We hope #Pakistan would positively respond & confirm coordinates of crossing point as well," on Thursday.
He also put forth that a follow-up meeting "can be held in Pakistan, as required."
India has previously shared the coordinates of the crossing point of the corridor along the international border with Pakistan.
The Indian government, on the eve of Guru Purab on November 22 last year, approved the construction of Kartarpur Corridor from Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district to the India-Pakistan international border. The Pakistan government had also confirmed the corridor's opening.
The Kartarpur route, along the India-Pakistan border, is three kilometres away from Gurdaspur in Punjab. Once functional, the corridor would allow Sikh pilgrims direct access to the historic Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, Pakistan, where Guru Nanak passed away in 1539. (ANI)
