Sangrur (Punjab) [India], April 28 (ANI): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that the opposition INDIA bloc will win 120-125 seats out of the total 190 seats that went to polls in the first two phases of 2024 Lok Sabha elections and said it is the Aam Aadmi Party that will decide the future of the country.
He expressed confidence that the next government after the general elections would not be formed without the Aam Aadmi Party.
Addresing a public meeting in Sangrur city of Punjab, CM Mann said, "I am travelling through the whole country... Two phases of the elections are complete. Voting on 190 seats is complete. Out of those 190, the INDIA bloc is winning 120-125 seats. We are going to have a share in forming the government".
"The next government at the Centre (after the general elections) will not be formed without the Aam Aadmi Party," CM Mann added.
He also said that the AAP will not let the lotus, election symbol of the ruling BJP party at the Centre, to bloom in the Punjab, a state governed by the AAP.
"AAP will decide the country's future, how the youth will get employment, schools, hospitals are to be constructed, and how the country will be made number one," he claimed.
"The country will become number one when Punjab becomes number one. Once it is 13-0 (Lok Sabha seats), Punjab will become number one. Everyone will say that it is the only state where there has been complete wipeout...," he added.
"The lotus will not bloom because the broom will clear the mud. We will not let the lotus bloom here...," CM Mann added.
Voting for 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in Punjab is scheduled for June 1. The counting will take place on June 4.
The 2024 general elections are being held in seven phases. Polling for the first phase was held on April 19 and for the second phase it was held on April 26.
The counting and results will be declared on June 4. (ANI)
