Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 22 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party leader Prakash Reddy on Monday took a dig at the INDIA bloc for extending support to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal despite knowing about his "wrongdoings in the Delhi excise policy scam".
On the recent 'Ulgulan' rally by the INDIA bloc held in Ranchi, BJP leader Prakash Reddy said, "The Delhi Chief Minister was involved in the scam, involved in the money transactions, his party colleagues are already in jail, he is also in jail. In spite of knowing the facts, INDI alliance leaders are supporting him".
The BJP leader claimed that the Left Wing parties were supported by the AAP and Congress just for political gains.
"The Congress, many times, supported left wing terrorists, Khalistan terrorists and the same thing Kejriwal is doing. The INDI alliance is against the interests of India," he said.
BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla also slammed the united oppositions rally in Ranchi and said that it is not a rally to save the Constitution, but one to 'save corruption'.
"The INDI Alliance gathered in Ranchi to save the Constitution, but it was a rally to save corruption. The INDI alliance has no vision for the country. There is only confusion, ambition and politics of division," Poonawalla said.
She was speaking at the 'Nyay Ulgulan Rally' by INDIA bloc leaders against the arrest of two key opposition faces -- ex-Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal -- in Ranchi, Jharkhand, Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Arvind Kejriwal levelled strong accusations against the BJP and said that every morsel being consumed by her husband is being monitored and attempts are being made to "kill" him in jail by denying him insulin.
"Many people say politics is a very dirty thing, and it's true. There is a camera over his food, his every morsel is being monitored...He is a sugar patient, and he has been taking 50 units of insulin every day for the last 12 years. But he is not being given insulin in jail. They want to kill Delhi's CM," the wife of the AAP national convenor said.
The grand rally in Ranchi was held amidst the Lok Sabha polls over the arrest of the ex-Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and the AAP's Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, two of the key faces of the INDIA bloc. Both Hemant Soren and Kejriwal are in judicial custody.
Earlier, a similar INDIA bloc rally was also held in the Ramlila Maidan in the national capital, where several opposition leaders joined hands to make a call for "saving democracy" in the country. (ANI)
