"In Gujarat, we are not just watching AI revolution, we are building it": Dy CM Harsh Sanghavi

Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Thursday highlighted the state's expanding role in India's artificial intelligence landscape, stating that Gujarat is positioned not just as a participant but as a builder of the country's emerging AI ecosystem.

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], December 11 (ANI): Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Thursday said that the State is not just "watching AI revolution but building it" and highlighted the role of AI in public safety and governance.
Speaking at the Regional AI Conference, the Deputy Chief Minister said, "Gujarat has always welcomed powerful forces - Atithi and Innovation (AI). This land has always been where courage meets creation. Today, the creation is powered by AI. Our youth holds smartphones today, but with AI, they will soon hold the future in their hands."
"Every revolution in history begins with human imagination, but for the first time, our imagination has created a partner that can imagine with us. This goal is not human vs machine; this goal is human with machine. In Gujarat, we are not just watching the AI revolution, we are building it. At GIFT city, the AI Centre of Excellence is shaping India's next tech ecosystem," he added.
Citing the Gujarat Police's successful adoption of AI-integrated CCTV networks. He said that the system has played a critical role in reuniting over 5,800 missing children with their families during the 2025 Jagannath Rathyatra.
He stated, "Recently, Gujarat Police has shown how AI integration can be useful for common citizens. By integrating AI technology with CCTV, Gujarat Police has successfully reunited more than 5,800 missing children with their parents during the 2025 Jagannathji Rathyatra, various fairs and religious events across the state."
Meanwhile, in a post on X, the Deputy CM wrote, "Attended the Regional AI Conference today in the esteemed presence of Hon'ble CM Shri @Bhupendrapbjp ji. AI is proving to be a true boon--when used at the right place, in the right way, and at the right time. From enhancing governance and security to improving service delivery and empowering citizens, AI is driving a future that is smarter, faster and more inclusive. A transformative era has begun, and Gujarat is leading it with vision and innovation." (ANI)
