In Begusarai, Shah urges locals to defeat 'tukde-tukde' gang

Begusarai (Bihar) [India], Apr 24 (ANI): BJP president Amit Shah on Wednesday hit out at "communists" and "tukde-tukde gang ( a term used for people who allegedly shouted anti-national slogans in JNU)" while addressing an election rally in Begusarai.
"This is the land of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. Here, those making seditious comments have no place here," he said in an apparent reference to former JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar, who is contesting polls from here on a CPI (M) ticket against BJP's Giriraj Singh. 
"Development and welfare of poor people is an issue in this election but the voters of Begusarai have an additional responsibility - to defeat the 'tukde-tukde gang' here," Shah said.
The BJP president urged public to shout slogans in a high pitch so that the "tukde-tukde gang" can hear it.
"Tukde-tukde gang should know that this is the land of Mother India," the BJP president asserted.
Paying his tributes to the legendary poet Dinkar, Shah recalled poems written by him. "I pay tributes to Dinkar jee on behalf of BJP. The Communists should know what Dinkarjee used to think," he said.
Asserting that even today the people of Bihar "shiver" recalling the "jungle raj" during RJD president Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi's rule, Shah said, "During Lalu Prasad regime, crime, corruption, casteism, and appeasement was rampant while the government was not interested in the development of the state."
He alleged that Lalu and Rabri distracted Bihar from the path of development.
Polling for the 40 seats at stake in Bihar is being conducted in all seven phases of elections. Counting of votes will take place on May 23. (ANI)
