Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], August 5 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the Krishi Bank's new digital boardroom on Sunday and mentioned that in any field, progress should be made with consideration for the most marginalized members of society.
During his visit to the Agriculture Bank in Ahmedabad, the Chief Minister formally commissioned the state-of-the-art boardroom, the first of its kind in the country, featuring advanced remote-control capabilities, and unveiled its digital screen.
"The cooperation sector in the country has been rejuvenated with the launch of the Ministry of Cooperation in the Central Government under the leadership of Hon'ble Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. The cooperative sector is developing keeping in mind the smallest man in society. It is a matter of great joy that the agriculture sector and the farmers are benefiting greatly," the Chief Minister said in a post on X.
On this occasion, Bank Chairman Dolarbhai Kotecha emphasized the significant reforms in agriculture and cooperation led by the Ministry of Cooperation under Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah.
He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister on behalf of farmers across the state, noting that under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's leadership, the Bank's settlement scheme for advanced interest waivers has benefited 7,427 farmers.
"Over the past three years, these waivers, amounting to Rs 85.91 crore, have helped these farmers become debt-free," he added.
At the beginning of the program, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the statue of the late Udaybhan Sinhji, the bank's founder chairman, and unveiled the boardroom plaque.
He then received a detailed presentation on the bank's operations and the boardroom's advanced features, including its paperless meeting solution.
The Chief Minister, along with other dignitaries, participated in planting trees on the Agriculture Bank premises as part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The program was attended by Ellisbridge MLA Amit Shah, Naranpura MLA Jitubhai Bhagat, Vejalpur MLA Amit Thaker, Agriculture Bank Director Jasabhai Barad, Veerjibhai Thumar, and Gujarat State Cooperative Union Chairman Ghanshyam Amin, along with bank directors, leaders from the cooperative sector, and Agriculture Bank employees.
