“In 20 months, he will take Bihar back ”: JDU’s Sanjay Jha slams Tejashwi Yadav

Responding to Yadav's promise of 'new Bihar in 20 months' if Mahagathbandhan is voted to power in the state, Jha said, "What does it take to say something? ... RJD ruined Bihar in 15 years; it took Nitish Kumar years to fix it... In 20 months, he (Tejashwi ) will take Bihar back to the same position" it had reached during the RJD rule.

Patna (Bihar) [India], October 26 (ANI): Janata Dal (United) National Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha on Sunday slammed Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav for his "new Bihar" in 20 months promise, and warned people that the state would be 'ruined' again if the RJD returns to power.
Earlier in the day, Tejashwi Yadav said the people of Bihar had given the BJP and its allies 20 years and urged them to give the Opposition alliance a 20-month opportunity to bring change and build a "new Bihar."
Addressing a gathering in Patna, Tejashwi said, "People of Bihar gave them (BJP) 20 years; we are only asking for 20 months, and I have full faith in people that this time there will be a change and the government will also change. Mahagathbandhan together will work to make a new Bihar."
The RJD leader also announced that if the Mahagathbandhan is voted to power, the allowances of local representatives will be increased and new welfare measures introduced.
"The allowance of Panchayat representatives and other village representatives will be doubled. The process of giving pension amounts to former Panchayat and Gram Kachari representatives will start," Yadav said.
Mahagathbandhan earlier declared Tejashwi Yadav as the CM face for the Bihar assembly polls, while also naming Mukesh Sahani of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) as Deputy CM candidate.
The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections are set to witness a direct contest between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan.
The NDA comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM).
The Mahagathbandhan, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), includes Congress, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation led by Dipankar Bhattacharya, Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist), and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP).
Additionally, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party is also in the fray.
The Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with voting counting scheduled for November 14. (ANI)
