New Delhi [India], August 21 (ANI): Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) MD US Awasthi met with Union Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister JP Nadda at his office in the national capital on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Awasthi briefed Minister Nadda about IFFCO and its services for the farmers and soil. He emphasised that IFFCO is the largest producer of Phosphoric and Urea fertilisers in India which caters to the farmers of India via cooperative channel.
The IFFCO MD further informed that IFFCO has indigenously invented and produced Nano Fertilisers for the first time in the world, that is, Nano Urea Plus Liquid and Nano DAP Liquid. He also briefed the Union Minister about IFFCO's Agri Drone Rural Entrepreneurs program where more than 1700 rural entrepreneurs were trained by IFFCO for spraying Nano Fertilisers across the country and the IFFCO Nano Model Village initiative in which more than 800 villages will be covered to educate and promote the usage of Nano Fertilisers.
Awasthi further assured that being Ranked Number 1 Cooperative in the world among the top 300 Cooperatives across the world, IFFCO is always committed to the farmers and soil of the country.
Earlier in July this year, IFFCO launched the Nano Fertiliser Usage Promotion Mahaabhiyan to promote the use of nano-fertilisers.
Under this initiative, 200 model nano village clusters have been selected by IFFCO and farmers of 800 villages are being given a subsidy of 25 per cent on the price (MRP) of Nano Urea Plus, Nano DAP and Sagarika fertilisers by IFFCO so that farmers can use nano fertilisers more and more in their fields.
Along with this, IFFCO will also give a grant of Rs 100 per acre to the drone entrepreneur so that farmers can get the facility of spraying at low rates. Farmers will be made aware of the increase in the quality and production of the crop in these model nano villages.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a 100-day action plan to increase the use of nano fertilisers in agriculture, under which 1270 demonstrations of Nano DAP (liquid) will be conducted in 413 districts and 200 trials of Nano Urea Plus (liquid) in 100 districts.
The trials will be assisted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, State Agricultural University and other research institutions and will be monitored by the Union Government. The availability of nano fertilisers will be ensured at each Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samridhi Kendra (PMKSK). (ANI)
