"If PM Modi had been little sensitive...": Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan on PM's roadshow in Ghatkopar

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Thursday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for holding a roadshow in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area where recently 16 people died after the hoarding collapsed earlier this week.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 16 (ANI): Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Thursday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for holding a roadshow in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area where recently 16 people died after the hoarding collapsed earlier this week.
Chavan said that people had to face inconvenience in the Ghatkopar due to the Prime Minister's roadshow.
"In Ghatkopar, an illegal hoarding was built and permission was not given to it. More than 16 people died after the hoarding collapsed. At the very place where this incident happened PM Modi holds his roadshow. If PM Modi had been a little sensitive he would have either changed the route of his roadshow or cancelled it...People had to face so much inconvenience," Prithviraj Chavan told ANI.
The Mumbai Police Crime Branch arrested the owner of Ego Media, Bhavesh Bhide in the Ghatkopar hoarding collapse case on Thursday. The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police arrested the main accused Bhavesh Bhide from Udaipur and is bringing him to Mumbai.
A massive hoarding collapsed in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area on May 13 amid strong winds where 16 people were killed and about 75 people were injured.
Ghatkopar in Mumbai was infused with a festive spirit as Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday conducted a roadshow ahead of the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis were also present at the roadshow.
The roadshow was marked by enthusiasm and vibrant displays of local culture, showcasing the community's support and excitement for the upcoming elections, transforming the city streets into a scene of jubilant festivity.
Maharashtra has 48 Lok Sabha seats, the second-largest after Uttar Pradesh. The first and second phases of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections are over.
While the first phase took place on April 19, the second phase was conducted on April 26. The third and fourth phases will be conducted on May 7 and May 13, respectively. Next, the elections in Maharashtra will be held on May 20. The counting of votes will be held on June 4. (ANI)
