If conditions remain good, monsoon is expected in Himachal Pradesh by June 20 to 22: IMD

IMD scientist Surinder Paul said that if the conditions remain good then monsoon is expected to reach Himachal Pradesh by June 20-22. IMD further forecasted that it will rain well in Himachal Pradesh this year.

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 10 (ANI): IMD scientist Surinder Paul said that if the conditions remain good, then monsoon is expected to reach Himachal Pradesh by June 20-22. IMD further forecasted that it would rain well in Himachal Pradesh this year.
IMD scientist Surinder Paul said, "The weather is dry and temperature is above normal. 42.3 degee cClsius was recorded at Neri in Hamirpur. After 15th June, thunderstorm activity can be reported. In the next 48 hours, monsoon will reach some pockets of Maharashtra and South Gujarat. Normally, monsoon reaches Himachal Pradesh by 20-22 June. If conditions remain good, Monsoon is expected to reach Himachal Pradesh on time."
He further predicted that it would rain above normal in Himachal Pradesh during this monsoon.
He further said, "The forecast for the monsoon is above normal. It will rain well in Himachal Pradesh. Monsoon is generally from June to September. In the coming 3 to 4 days in will remain hot and humid conditions."
Earlier IMD has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Latur, and Nanded in Maharashtra for the next 24 hours.
"We have issued an Orange alert for heavy rain in Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Latur, and Nanded for the next 24 hours. Today, Mumbai received more than 65 mm of rainfall", said Sunil Kamble, Chief of Maharashtra IMD, while speaking to ANI.
The IMD had reported that the southwest monsoon has advanced to parts of the central Arabian Sea, south Maharashtra, Telangana, south Chhattisgarh, south Odisha, and more areas of coastal Andhra Pradesh.
"Southwest Monsoon has advanced into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, south Maharashtra, Telangana and some parts of south Chhattisgarh and south Odisha and some more parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh today, 8 June 2024," IMD said in a post on X. (ANI)
