Davanagere (Karnataka) [India], Feb 14 (ANI): Two IAS officers from Karnataka, DC Gautam Bagadi and IAS Ashwati got hitched on Thursday here on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. The wedding was held at Tagore Hall of the Davanagere district with just a few close friends of both the families and senior officials.
DC Gautam Bagadi was seen smiling while sharing a glance with his wife following the garlanding ceremony.
With just 150 people present at the wedding, the duo decided to get married in a simple way and urged their family members not to indulge in any kind of flamboyance despite disagreement.
Gautam Bagadi is the senior IAS officer of the 2009 IAS batch, while Ashwati is from 2013 batch.
The couple was dating for the past four years and finally decided to tie the knot on this special day.
While many in the country are celebrating Valentine's Day, others expressed resentment.
The Bajrang Dal workers earlier had written an open letter to many pubs, restaurants and malls not to celebrate Valentine's Day.
For several years, the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad have been staging protests against the Valentine's Day celebrations. (ANI)
