IAF to showcase India's air prowess in Chennai on 92nd Air Force Day

Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to conduct a mega airshow on Marina Beach in Chennai on the occasion of 92nd Air Force Day on October 6.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], October 1 (ANI): Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to conduct a mega airshow on Marina Beach in Chennai on the occasion of 92nd Air Force Day on October 6.
Rathish Kumar VM, Air Officer Commanding, Tambaram Air Force Station, said that fighter jets Tejas, SU-30 to, Surya Kiran IAF will showcase India's air prowess with its top-of-the line aircraft.
"The team of the 92nd Air Force Day is 'Potent, Powerful and Self-reliant', keeping in sync with the team, our display is planned at Marina Beach involving 72 aircraft...the flypast which will be happening at Marina, will be witnessed from as far as Kovalam. Flypast can be witnessed from all the beaches from Kovalam to Marina. Main aerobatics OF Tejas, Sukhoi Su-30MKI and Surya Kiran will happen in Marina," Air Officer Commanding said.

He further urged the young people to look up to the Indian Air Force and join the Air Force.

This year's event is based on theme "Bhartiya Vayu Sena - Saksham, Sashakt, Atmanirbhar" (Potent, Powerful, and Self-Reliant), highlighting the lAF's unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation's airspace.
The people of Chennai will witness a thrilling spectacle on the day, with 72 aircraft from the lAF displaying mesmerising aerobatic manoeuvres and synchronised formation flying.
Air Force Day marks the official induction of the Indian Air Force (IAF) into the country's armed forces in 1932.
Every year, the day is celebrated in the presence of the Indian Air Force chief and senior officers.
The Air Force was officially raised as the supporting force of the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom in 1932 and the first operational squadron was created in 1933.
Major operations undertaken by the IAF include Operation Vijay, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Cactus, and Operation Poomalai since 1950. (ANI)
