IAF prepared to fight at short notice if need arises: Dhanoa

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 8 (ANI): Air Chief Marshal B.S. Dhanoa on Sunday assured the nation that the Indian Air Force (IAF) was prepared to fight at a short notice if the need arises.

"On behalf of all air warriors, I assure the nation of our sacred resolve in defending the sovereignty of our skies. Notwithstanding the pace of the ongoing acquisition, modernisation, indigenisation effort and our desire for peace, we are prepared to fight at a short notice if the need arises," the IAF chief said, while attending the celebration of the 85th anniversary of Indian Air Force at the Hindon Air Force Station at Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad.

The IAF chief also stated that the force was acquiring multi-spectrum strategic capabilities and will remain committed in building a joint manship with the Indian Army and the Navy.

A series of amusing air display was organised during the event.

On October 5, Dhanoa had said that the IAF was capable of fighting a two-front war in full synergy.

Dhanoa, while addressing the media at IAF's annual press conference, had said any decision on surgical strike involving the IAF has to be taken by the government, adding that they are "ready to take on any challenge ." (ANI)
