IAF bids farewell to MiG-27 ML Bahadur

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], Dec. 29 (ANI): The Indian Air Force has bid farewell to MiG-27 ML Bahadur over Hasimara Air Force base in West Bengal.

The aircraft boasts being the single most powerful engine in the world and had the peculiarity of variable geometry wing which allowed the pilot to change the wing sweep angle as per the mission requirements while flying.

This swing wing fighter-bomber of Russian origin was inducted into the IAF in the late 1980's, which later became the main strike aircraft of the Indian Air Force.

With its sophisticated avionics and weapon computers, the aircraft was capable of delivering a variety of loads in different modes of attack with immense precision.

MiG-27 ML had an impeccable track record in its more than three decades service to the nation, including various operations in Kargil. (ANI)
