Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], August 18 (ANI): YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) chief YS Sharmila was placed under house arrest on Friday while she was heading to Gajwel in Siddipet district to meet people who claim they had not received any financial help from the Telangana Government under the Dali Bandhu Scheme.
Sharmila was stopped by the police as she was about to leave her Lotus Pond residence in Jubilee Hills area. Telangana Police said that Sharmila had no prior permission to go to Gajwel.
As she was stopped, she performed ‘aarti’ to the cops , as a mark of her protest, and said that she prays for them for getting better wisdom, and not work as an extended outfit of the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
"I am holding ‘aarti’ to my police brothers and sisters, praying they are endowed with more wisdom and righteousness. I pray they adhere to the Constitution, and not KCR" Sharmila said.
Sharmila then proceeded to stage a hunger strike in front of her house in protest against the state government.
Taking the attack to Telangana CM K. Chandrashekar Rao She said, “It is shameful to note that KCR continues to target me while I was visiting his constituency where hapless Dalits were protesting against him for his failures to extend Dalit Bandhu to the eligible families. It is shocking that I am being house arrested while BRS goons who have threatened us are let off.
“KCR is clearly rattled and is losing his position. He is obviously scared that my visit will further expose his misdeeds and deception, in his constituency" she said.
The YSRTP leader alleged that every time she would go out to visit districts and interact with people, she was being stopped by the state police force. (ANI)
