Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], September 25 (ANI): A Ganesh Pandal based on the theme of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)'s third lunar mission-- Chandrayaan-3-- has been erected in Telangana's Hyderabad.
Team Chaturbhuj recreated Ganesh Pandal in the shape of Chandrayan-3's spacecraft in Shanti Nagar of Kukatpally, Hyderabad.
The youth dedicated the pandal to the ISRO.
Parneet Kumar, representing Team Chaturbhuj said, "As we all know ISRO made a new record of landing on the South Pole (of the lunar surface), so we wanted to make a small dedication to ISRO. We made a Ganesh pandal representing ISRO Chandryaan-3."
He said that the replica cost the team around Rs 50,000 and the whole work was completed in six working days.
Chandrayaan-3 made history by becoming the first mission to soft-land on the lunar south pole, a region that has never been explored before. The mission aimed to demonstrate safe and soft lunar landing, rover mobility, and in-situ scientific experiments.
India now joined the United States, Russia, and China as one of the few countries to successfully land on the Moon.
Ganesh Chaturthi is a ten-day festival that starts on the fourth day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month 'Bhadrapada' and this year the festival commenced on September 19. This auspicious ten-day festival starts with 'Chaturthi' and ends on 'Anantha Chaturdashi'.
It is believed that Lord Ganesh arrives on Earth during the festival and after the 10 days of blessings he showers on his devotees, he returns back to his parents Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati on 'Kailash Parvat'.
The festive period is also known as 'Vinayak Chaturthi' or 'Vinayak Chavithi'.
The festival celebrates Ganesh as the 'God of New Beginnings' and the 'Remover of Obstacles' as well as the god of wisdom and intelligence. (ANI)
