Hyderabad: SHE Team to hold run on International Women's Day

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Feb 28 (ANI): The SHE Team of Hyderabad police has announced organising a “V R 1” run as part of International Women’s Day celebration.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Feb 28 (ANI): The SHE Team of Hyderabad police has announced organising a “V R 1” run as part of International Women’s Day celebration.
Being organised for creating awareness in the society for dignity and equality, the V R 1 run is scheduled to be held on Sunday, March 17 at People's Plaza on the necklace road.
Sharing details of the same, Shikha Goel, Additional CP, Crime and SIT Hyderabad told ANI, “Hyderabad police SHE team is going to conduct a run on the occasion of the International Women's day. The theme of this year is 'V R 1'. Hyderabad is one of the safe cities in the country for women and we aim to make it the safest city for women. Therefore, I request all to participate in large numbers and make it successful".
Further outlining the motive of the campaign, State Principal Secretary to Government (Home Department) Rajiv Trivedi said,  “Though our old Indian culture encourages dignity for women, but we still face issues of assault on women in our society but hopefully the efforts that are being taken for the awareness will help in eliminating inequality in the society. I appreciate the efforts taken by Hyderabad police and SHE Team in the reduction of crimes.”
Table tennis player Naina Jaiswal was also present during the announcement of the event and she stated that this run is for spreading awareness regarding safety and security of women.
“I request all to participate in maximum numbers. Also, I appreciate and congratulate SHE teams for taking up this and the efforts that the team has been taking up,” she said.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar told  ANI that the safety and security of women remain a top priority of police endeavor.
"Ever since the creation of Telangana state, Hyderabad has been marching ahead as the best business destination around the world. Safety and security of women remain our top most priority. Hyderabad police are dedicated to the cause of safety and security of women," he said. (ANI)
