According to the police, all stolen items, including 84 laptops, 4 cars, 5 phones, and 3 passports belonging to the victim and their family, were recovered intact. Additionally, 2 cars and 1 motorbike belonging to the accused were seized during the investigation.
"On July 11, 2024, Vakati Madhavi visited the Jubilee Hills Police Station to report a distressing series of events involving her son, Ravichandra Reddy, and his company, Gigleaz Pvt Ltd. She recounted how financial troubles had led to the non-payment of salaries to 1,200 employees recruited through consultancies, sparking anger and demands for refunds from affected staff and consultants. Matters escalated dramatically in the early hours of July 10, 2024, when individuals associated with these consultancies, including Jagadesh, Gowtham, Shiva, Sujith, and others, forcibly entered their residence in HUDA Colony, Nandagiri Hills," the police said in a press release.
According to Madhavi's statement, they assaulted Ravichandra Reddy and his friend Mohan, seized 80 laptops, and 5 mobile phones, and threatened her with dire consequences to deter her from reporting the incident. Subsequently, a case was registered under various serious charges including intentional house trespass, preparation to cause harm, wrongful restraint, abduction, confinement for extortion, intimidation, and theft, the police said.
Ravichandra Reddy, in his statement, detailed how he founded Gigleaz Pvt Ltd near IKEA, Gachibowli, and employed 1,200 personnel through consultancies for a fee. Financial difficulties resulted in delayed salary payments, escalating tensions with the consultancies.
He described how, on July 10, A1, A6, and A7 abducted and assaulted him, confining him at Sunrise Hotel on Srisailam Road, while A2 to A5 and A8 stole laptops and mobile phones from his residence, the police said.
The Jubilee Hills Police swiftly launched an investigation, gathering evidence including witness statements from Madhavi, private security personnel, and others involved. They meticulously examined the crime scene at HUDA Colony, collecting photographs, videos, detailed sketches, and panchanamas under the supervision of Clues Team Officer M. Bhupathi Reddy.
Interrogations and confessions from A1 to A8 led to the recovery of stolen items and further evidence tying them to the crimes. A1, A6, and A7 were apprehended at Jagruthi Consultancy, Banjara Hills, where they admitted to their roles in the abduction, assault, and theft. Police seized cell phones, laptops, and other crucial items used during the crimes, documenting each seizure meticulously.
The arrests were conducted following legal procedures, ensuring the accused were informed of their rights and the reasons for their arrest. Medical examinations and COVID-19 tests were administered as per protocol, bolstering the investigation's integrity.
The investigation uncovered A1's involvement in establishing Jagruti Training Consultancy and his role in job placements through various consultancies, shedding light on financial transactions and disputes that culminated in the violent events of July 10, 2024. Seized items, including vehicles and electronic devices, played a critical role in linking the accused to the crimes.
"As the investigation progresses, efforts continue to reconstruct crime scenes, visit confinement locations, and gather additional evidence. Requests for police custody of the accused for further interrogation and reconstruction activities are pending, underscoring on-going efforts to ensure justice and a comprehensive resolution of the case.
"The victims of Ravichandra Reddy (complainant of this case) lodged a complaint before the SHO, Raidurgam Police Station for the offences of Cheating against him on job fraud and it is under probe in Cr.No. 685/2024 u/s. 406, 420 r/w 34 IPC," the police said. (ANI)
