Bike rally by women for voter awareness in Raipur on Wednesday

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], March 20 (ANI): Hundreds of women participated in a two-wheeler rally organised to create voter awareness for ensuring maximum voter participation in the Lok Sabha elections.
The rally was organised by Women and Child Development department and is part of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation program (SVEEP), the flagship programme of the Election Commission of India for voter education, spreading voter awareness and promoting voter literacy in India.
"Undoubtedly, this programme outlines the role of women in democracy. The kind of excitement on the faces shows that we are moving towards cent per cent voting in the elections," said a participant.
"This is part of SVEEP voter awareness programme of the Election Commission. In the last state assembly elections in Raipur, the voting percentage in some constituencies was even less than rural areas. This programme will strengthen democracy and will increase voters' participate in elections," said Raipur Commissioner GR Churendra.
There are 11 Lok Sabha seats in the Chhattisgarh and Lok Sabha polls will be held in three phases in the State on April 11, 18 and 23. (ANI)
