Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 9 (ANI): Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC on Sunday highlighted the "politics of performance" after the Bharatiya Janata Party secured a historic victory in the Delhi Assembly elections.
Speaking to ANI, the Shiv Sena leader took a dig at Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal, pointing out that false promises and hypocritical statements do not work with people.
"One thing is clear--history has been made in Delhi. This change proves that NDA is in the Centre, NDA is in Delhi, and NDA is throughout the country. What to say about Arvind Kejriwal? False promises, hypocritical statements--all this doesn't work with people. Congress has not done any work and they don't even introspect properly," Shaina NC said.
"This was a politics of performance, and those who do not perform will perish like Congress," she added.
This comes after AAP suffered a massive setback in the Delhi Assembly elections, as it could secure only 22 seats, a huge drop from its previous tally of 62.
BJP won a historic mandate in the Delhi polls on Saturday, returning to power in the national capital after 27 years by ousting Aam Aadmi Party.
Meanwhile, Atishi tendered her resignation as Delhi Chief Minister on Sunday, following her party's loss in the Assembly elections.
The Aam Aadmi Party leader submitted her resignation to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena at Raj Niwas on Sunday.
Atishi, 43, has been serving as the Chief Minister of Delhi since September 2024. Her elevation to the top post came after Kejriwal announced his resignation from his post as Chief Minister.
Atishi was the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi after Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit. (ANI)
