“Historic day for India”: Delhi LG on successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on moon's south pole

New Delhi [India], August 23 (ANI): Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena commended the historic achievement as the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover successfully touched down on the uncharted south pole of the moon.
The official LG Delhi posted on X (formerly Twitter), "Historic Day for India as #ISRO successfully lands Vikram & Pragyan on the south pole of the moon, becoming the first country in the world to do so."
The tweet also lauds the tireless efforts of ISRO scientists and extends gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his unwavering support in leading the Chandrayaan 3 mission.
“This unparalleled achievement by India in the field of Space Technology, despite restraints will immensely help scientists understand the unexplored parts of the moon. My heartiest congratulations to all at ISRO- our Scientists for this pathbreaking achievement & gratitude to Hon'ble PM Shri @NarendraModi Ji for leading & supporting the #Chandrayaan3Mission with unwavering conviction, it added.
The excitement reverberates further as the Planetary Society, India in association with the Press Club Hyderabad organised a momentous screening of the Chandrayaan-3 landing on the lunar surface. Scientists, experts and students watched the prestigious moment as Chandrayaan-3 landed on the moon.
Raghunandan, Director of the Planetary Society, India, and scientist said, "We are all happy that the moon mission of India, Chandrayaan-3 has successfully landed on the moon. The next stage of Chandrayaan-3 will continue for 14 days."
Scientist Raghunandan introduced his students Nikhil from Warangal and Vasu from Nizamabad who were selected for the YUVIKA program of ISRO. The students expressed their happiness speaking to ANI about visiting the ISRO HQ.
India has become the fourth country- after the US, China and Russia – to have successfully landed on the moon’s surface, it has earned a place in record books as the first to touchdown on the south side of Earth’s only natural satellite. (ANI)
