Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], August 18 (ANI): Biju Janta Dal (BJD) leader Arun Sahoo said that former Odisha Chief Minister and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik was hospitalised due to dehydration, but his condition is now stable.
Sahoo added that a team of doctors is monitoring his health, and several leaders, including state ministers and the PCC President, have visited the hospital to check on him.
Speaking to ANI on Sunday, Arun Sahoo said, "...His condition is stable now and a panel of doctors is treating and taking care of him. He is quite well. Doctors are saying that it is due to dehydration."
"On behalf of the government, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan and Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling visited the hospital to inquire about his health. PCC President Bhakta Charan Das also visited the hospital," he added.
Patnaik was admitted to SUM Ultimate Medicare, Bhubaneswar, on Sunday evening due to dehydration.
According to the hospital, his condition is stable and he is responding well to the treatment.
Odisha Ministers Mukesh Mahaling, Prithviraj Harichandan and BJP leader Babu Singh came to the hospital to inquire about his health.
Earlier, Bhubaneswar Mayor and BJD leader Sulochana Das also visited the hospital.
Meanwhile, on August 12, former Odisha CM slammed the BJP government in Odisha after a 13-year-old girl, who allegedly immolated herself in Odisha's Bargarh district, succumbed to burn injuries on August 11, alleging, "administration is failing to create confidence in the system where our daughters feel safe, valued and heard".Highlighting disturbingly similar incidents, Patnaik noted that four girls have died in similar incidents within a month.
In the X post, Former Chief Minister wrote, "Deeply saddened, shocked and anguished to know that another girl from Gaesilat, Bargarh has died after setting herself on fire. My condolences to the young girl, and prayers are with the family members in the hour of grief. May God give the family members strength to bear this irreparable loss." (ANI)

“Govt must clarify LPG reserves, supply timelines to public

"The government should clarify - what is the amount of reserves in our country presently, how much is left, how much can be consumed over how many days, and by when are they expecting that the LPG supply would be normalised. I believe the government is having talks; the people of this nation also need to be told about the current situation. If there is a crisis of energy, then by when the government plans to resolve it should also be clarified to the people, especially to the common man," he said.
