New Delhi [India], June 25 (ANI): Hindu College, University of Delhi on Monday announced the launch of a Skill Training Programme in Fragrance Formulations for Wellness Products.
The Training Programme is an initiative of the Government of Manipur which is being organised by Hindu College in partnership with Ultra International Ltd And CSIR- CIMAP, Lucknow, under the esteemed mentorship of the Supreme Court-appointed Committee, headed by Justice Gita Mittal.
The intensive 3 weeks training program encompasses theoretical sessions, special lectures, hands-on sessions, visits to industries and excursions and aims to empower 30 women from Manipur by equipping them with specialised skills in the fragrance industry, the college press release stated.
The training program, meticulously designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical skills, includes Special Lecture Sessions on the Introductory Aspects Related to Fragrances, hands-on skill imparting sessions, and enriching Industrial Visits and Excursions.
"By delving into the intricacies of fragrance formulation, participants gain theoretical insights and practical expertise, preparing them to tap into the burgeoning market for wellness and self-care products," it added.
The inaugural event was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr Vineet Joshi, Chief Secretary of the Government of Manipur.
He expressed gratitude to the Justice Gita Mittal and the committee members. He informed the audience that the Chief Minister of Manipur was immensely pleased to learn about this groundbreaking program.
He highlighted that this is a wonderful opportunity for the participants and assured them that once they have mastered the intricate skills in fragrance formulation, the state government will fully support their ambitious endeavours.
He encouraged the enthusiastic participants to utilize their precious time to enhance their skills and become shining torchbearers to the world.
Principal of Hindu College, Prof. Anju Srivastava, emphasized the transformative potential of this dynamic skill training, "Conducting a course on fragrances involves much more than academic learning. This program is being conducted in two phases: the first is called Skill Training in Fragrance Formulation for Wellness Products, and the second phase is the Ultra International Programme for Essential Oil Production and its Value Addition for Manipur. Through this innovative initiative, academia and industry are coming together for the holistic empowerment of women, and empowering women means empowering the nation."
"These women are acquiring essential, high-impact skills that enable them to become visionary entrepreneurs and ambassadors of change, allowing them to spread their wings and soar to new heights. Because of its soil and climate dynamics, Manipur has a floral treasure with flowers such as Siroi Lily, Peace Lily, Purple Rice, False Christmas, Wax Mallow, and Dendrobium Noble, which have a lot of potential for the fragrance industry startups. Through this comprehensive training and hands-on practice by the talented women contingent, the fragrance-formulated wellness products will significantly contribute to the socio-economic growth of the state. When this initiative succeeds, it will extend its reach far and beyond," she further added.
Mercina R. Panmei, IAS Commissioner (Taxes) and SO, Manipur, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. (ANI)
