Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], September 24 (ANI): Attacking Bharatiya Janata Party for its scheduled Vidhan Sabha ‘gherao’ protest on Monday, Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said instead of helping people in a disaster-hit state, BJP is planning a protest.
On the BJP's allegation that the state government failed to fulfil the aspirations of people and poll guarantees, Agnihotri said that the government will fulfill all promises made to the people of the state. He said the government is committed to those guarantees promised to people of state and the financial mismanagement and the disaster situation have halted it temporarily.
“Our government will fulfil all guarantees as promised as the state's financial condition is not good and also the state is undergoing disaster but all promises will be fulfilled. This will remain a fact that they failed to represent HP with the 15th Finance Commission. BJP tried to misuse the government funds to win the elections,” said Agnihotri.
“The Union government has written a letter to power companies not to pay Water Cess. We are still waiting for help from the Union government. The BJP had planned to win elections by spending over 16,000 crore government funds,” said Mukesh Agnihotri further.
Meanwhile, former CM Jai Ram Thakur alleged that the Congress is misleading the people of the state, as they were not able to fulfil their promises and now are giving false facts to the people.
Thakur also slammed Congress for presenting a White Paper on state finances in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly on Thursday.
“After the formation of the state Congress government, they have come up with this white paper on the financial status blaming the BJP government, it is completely fake and a bundle of lies.”
“They have deceived the people of Himachal Pradesh. There should have been a white paper on the three terms of the previous governments. The white paper they have released in financial position is a lie. It is equal to the document they have released this white paper just to divert the attention of the people from the guarantees which they promised before the elections,” said Jai Ram Thakur. (ANI)
