Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], November 1 (ANI): The Himachal Pradesh government has extended the application deadline for police recruitment from October 31 to November 12, a government spokesperson announced on Friday.
This extension follows directions from Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, aimed at providing more time for youth across the state to apply for the positions, benefitting thousands of prospective candidates.
The spokesperson added that CM Sukhu has prioritised employment generation during his 20-month tenure, creating over 31,000 job opportunities. As part of these efforts, the HP Public Service Commission has invited applications for 1,088 constable positions in the state police department.
To promote gender equality, the state government has reserved 30 per cent of police vacancies for women. Of the 1,088 posts, 380 are designated for female constables, while the remaining 708 are open to male candidates.
Additionally, the government has relaxed the maximum age limit for constable recruitment by one year. Under this revised limit, general category applicants aged 18 to 26, SC/ST, OBC, Gorkha and distinguished sportspersons aged 18 to 28, and Home Guards aged 20 to 29 are eligible to apply.
These initiatives demonstrate the state government's commitment to inclusive employment opportunities, expanding access across all segments of society. (ANI)
