Himachal Pradesh: IMD predicts rain, snowfall in Shimla and other areas

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rain and snow during the next 24 hours in the state after the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh experienced snowfall while the plains received scattered rains on Monday.

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], October 16 (ANI): The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday forecasted more rain and snowfall in the next 24 hours Shimla after the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh experienced snowfall while the plains received scattered rains on Monday.
According to the Met department, the minimum temperature in Keylong village reached 1.2 degrees Celsius, and in Shimla, the temperature went down to 11 degrees Celsius. Weather in Shimla is expected to get clearer after Monday, said Surender Paul, head of IMD Himachal Pradesh.
"During the past 24 hours in the state, there has been widespread rainfall in Himachal Pradesh, and the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh have received fresh snowfall. The minimum temperature in Keylong was recorded at 1.2 degrees Celsius, and in Shimla, it was recorded at 11 degrees Celsius," said the head of IMD Himachal Pradesh.
"The western disturbance is there in the state, and it will persist until tomorrow; more rain and snow in higher reaches are still expected. The weather will start clearing after tomorrow," he added.
As per the IMD, in the past 24 hours, Kukumseri in Lahaul-Spiti district recorded 2.1 degrees Celsius, Kalpa in Kinnaur recorded 3.0 degrees Celsius, Manali recorded 6.1 degrees, Rekong Peo in Kinnaur recorded 6.8 degrees Celsius, Narkanda in Shimla district recorded 7.6 degrees Celsius, Dalhousie recorded 7.9 degrees, Kufri recorded 8.8 degrees Celsius, Bhunter in Kullu recorded 10.1 degrees Celsius, Shimla e corded 11.0 degrees minimum temperature, Solan recorded 11.7 degrees Celsius, and Dharamshala recorded 15.2 degrees Celsius.
