Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], Mar 29 (ANI): A high-voltage drama unfolded outside the MLA guest house here when Congress MLA from Dharampuri Panchilal Medha arrived to submit his resignation to Chief Minister Kamal Nath as a mark of protest against the alleged inaction of the administration to crack down on liquor mafia.
As he was discussing it with ANI reporter, two ministers of the government came to persuade him. One of the ministers began to drag the MLA towards his room.
They later took Medha to Chief Minister Kamal Nath. The MLA then held talks with the Chief Minister for around 45 minutes.
In his resignation letter, a copy of which is available with ANI, Medha has alleged that he complained to the administration about two liquor shops running near a school in his constituency but no action was taken against.
Medha held a meeting with his workers on the issue. "While there was no action against the liquor mafia, his workers were harassed by liquor mafia instead," alleged Medha.
Accusing the district administration of being non-cooperative and failing to act against the concerned person, he demanded suspension and transfer of some of the officers in the administration.
The drama got further twists when BJP jumped into it with Leader of Opposition Gopal Bhargav claiming that liquor business has gone up by 10 per cent ever since the Congress government came to power in Madhya Pradesh. (ANI)
