Herbal medicine expert Jamoh Lego bestowed with Padma Shri, says, "recognition for lifelong dedication"

New Delhi [India], April 22 (ANI): After being conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri, tribal herbal medicine expert from Arunachal Pradesh, Yanung Jamoh Lego expressed gratitude and said that she has finally received recognition for her lifelong dedication to the traditional healing system.
Speaking to ANI, Yanung Jamoh Lego said, "I am happy that I received it. I have reached here by working hard. I have been working in the traditional healing system since 1995. I have dedicated my whole life to achieving this feat."
The tribal herbal medicinal expert also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for acknowledging her efforts in the field and said that she is grateful to have achieved the Padma Shri through years of hard work.
"I am very happy with the Modi government because of whom I have received this recognition today. I don't have any political backing. I achieved it through my hard work. I am very happy," added Lego.
Yanung Jamoh Lego was presented with the Padma Shri award at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the national capital on Monday.

Another Padma Shri Awardee, Zahir I Kazi, from Maharashtra received the esteemed award in the field of Literature and Education on Monday.
After receiving the award, Kazi expressed gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he experienced a "sense of fulfilment."
"I couldn't believe the news on January 25, that I was about to be conferred with the Padma Shri. I feel a sense of fulfillment just like all the people who do good work, who contribute to the country's development with a nationalistic attitude," he said.
Adding further, Kazi said that the acknowledgement will inspire many other people to continue the good work.
"I feel that some of the best people, absolutely on merit have been chosen for the award. I want to thank our honourable president and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this recognition," he added.
President of India Droupadi Murmu presented 3 Padma Vibhushan, 8 Padma Bhushan and 55 Padma Shri Awards for the year 2024 at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-I held with grandeur in Darbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhawan today.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, many Ministers of the Union and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
After the Investiture Ceremony, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah and other Union Ministers interacted with the Padma Awardees at a dinner hosted by the Home Minister at his residence in New Delhi.
As per an official release, the Padma Awardees will pay homage at the National War Memorial tomorrow morning (April 23, 2024).
They will also visit Rashtrapati Bhawan and the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya. (ANI)
