New Delhi [India], Feb 7 (ANI): After light rains early on Thursday, the national capital and the adjoining areas like Noida and Ghaziabad were hit by heavy rains and hailstorm in the evening.
As many as 18 Delhi-bound flights between 6 pm and 7 pm had to be diverted owing to the bad weather conditions in the capital city.
Moreover, heavy rain and hailstorm in various parts of Delhi and surrounding areas affected the normal movement of traffic.
Netizens took to social media to share the images and videos of the hailstorm.

Comparing the hail to snow, another user posted these pictures of the hailstorm.

Meanwhile, overall air quality over Delhi remained 'very poor'. "Air quality has not improved significantly as rainfall was not sufficient enough and wind speed was also moderate,"  System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research said.
For the coming three days too, SAFAR has predicted no improvement in air quality, which is likely to oscillate between the "poor" and "very poor" category.
However, major pollutants in the air have dipped significantly with PM (particulate matter) 10 recorded at 119 and touching 'moderate' as compared to 'poor' on Wednesday. The PM (particulate matter) 2.5 has reached a 'satisfactory' level with 60.
Dense fog in the isolated pockets of Delhi and nearby area has reduced the visibility causing a delay in the schedule of 16 Delhi-bound trains as well. (ANI)
