“Heart-wrenching": Uttar Pradesh CM condoles deaths at Uttarakhand's Mansa Devi Temple stampede

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 27 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday called the Haridwar temple stampede "extremely tragic" and "heart-wrenching" and offered his condolences to the grieving families.
In a post on X, Yogi Adityanath wrote, "The loss of life in the unfortunate accident on the path to Shri Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, is extremely tragic and heart-wrenching."


He prayed for peace for the departed souls and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
"My condolences are with the grieving families. I pray to Maa Mansa Devi that the departed souls attain salvation, the sorrowful families receive the strength to bear this immense grief, and the injured recover swiftly," the post reads.
While BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh called the Haridwar temple stampede a very unfortunate incident, and said that relief work is going on quickly.

He added that an investigation will be conducted to determine who is responsible and that the government is working to ensure proper treatment for the injured.
Speaking to ANI, Tarun Chugh said, "It is a very unfortunate incident that has happened.... Relief work is being carried out speedily for those who are injured... An investigation will be conducted to determine who is responsible for this incident. Relief work is ongoing. The entire government is working towards ensuring that the injured get proper treatment, get quick treatment, and go back home after getting well."
Six people died in a stampede at the Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar, where a large crowd had gathered on Sunday morning.
Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister ordered a magisterial inquiry and announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
While speaking with the reporters, CM Dhami said, "The injured are being treated. Some have been referred to AIIMS Rishikesh. Our priority is that they get good treatment and recover soon. A toll-free number has also been issued. Magisterial inquiry has been ordered and ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured, also announced."He said, "Six people have died in this accident..."
