New Delhi [India], February 11 (ANI): Punjab MLA Amandeep Kaur Arora on Tuesday took a jibe at Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Pratap Singh Bajwa's statement alleging rift within the Punjab unit of Aam Aadmi Party and said that he should instead worry about keeping his own party MLAsunited.
This comes after AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting with Punjab MLAs including CM Bhagwant Mann in the national capital, following party's crushing defeat in the Delhi assembly polls.
"Pratap Singh Bajwa said that our government will not stand for long... He should try and keep the Congress MLAs united," Kaur said speaking to ANI.
Speaking on the meeting with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, she said that they discussed strategies for the future.
"After the elections, every party holds meetings and the further strategy after the elections is discussed..." she further said.
Punjab MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj said that the party which came into Opposition after the Delhi assembly elections would play their role strongly.
"AAP has come into opposition in Delhi and we will play our role strongly... The Congress did not get any seats in Delhi. Congress should stop worrying about AAP in Punjab..." Bharaj said speaking to ANI.
Further, she exuded confidence that the party would fulfil it's five main promises to the public.
"We promised five main guarantees. The government is already working on four of them and there are still two years remaining, we will fulfil all guarantees," she further added.
Meanwhile, Punjab NRI Affairs minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and MLA Anmol Gagan arrived at the Kapurthala house to attend the meeting called by Kejriwal.
AAP suffered a massive setback, securing only 22 seats--a huge drop from its previous tally of 62 in 2020 polls. With this historic mandate, BJP is returning to power in the national capital after 27 years.
The BJP won the Delhi assembly election by a comfortable margin, winning 48 out of 70 assembly seats. (ANI)
