He is Hindu only in name: Acharya Pramod Krishnam slams Kharge after his remarks on Yogi Adityanath

Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 11 (ANI): Amid ongoing tensions between the BJP and Congress ahead of the elections in Jharkhand and Maharashtra, former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam on Monday strongly condemned Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's remarks about Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, suggesting that Kharge is not a true Hindu.
Krishnam questioned Kharge's religion, saying that no Hindu can disrespect Saints and Mahatmas. He stated that Kharge's actions don't align with Hindu values and that he should clarify whether he is Hindu or not.
Krishnam said that the kind of statements he is giving, it seems that he is irritated with the Sanatanis. Speaking with ANI, Acharya Pramod Krishnam said, "From his name. Mallikarjun Kharge seems to be Hindu. But his actions don't make it seem that he is Hindu. He should first say who he is, whether he is Hindu or not. No Hindu can disrespect Saints and Mahatmas. The manner in which he is making statements, it seem that he is irritated by Sanatana."
Accusing Kharge of "disrespecting" Hindu saints, Acharya Pramod Krishnam said, "Anyone who is against Sanatana, is against India."
He further said that India is a 'Rishi Pradhan' country, and making "shallow comments" on UP CM doesn't suit the senior Congress leader.
"He is such a senior leader, disrespect to Hindus saints, to Sanatana, to saffron - this doesn't behove him. This is a 'rishi pradhan' country. Hindus will not disrespect Hindu saints...Making such shallow comments on Yogi Adityanath doesn't suit Mallikarjun Kharge."
On Sunday, Congress National President Kharge, speaking at an election rally in Maharashtra, made an indirect reference to Yogi Adityanath without naming him. Kharge criticized leaders who, in his view, "live in the guise of sadhus" and have become politicians. He also took a dig at Adityanath's slogan calling for Hindu unity, accusing him of spreading hatred.
Kharge said, "Many leaders live in the guise of sadhus and have now become politicians. Some have even become chief ministers. They wear 'gerua' clothes and have no hair on their heads... I would say to the BJP, either wear white clothes or if you are a sanyasi, wear 'gerua' clothes, but then get out of politics. On the one hand, you wear 'gerua' clothes and on the other hand, you say 'batoge toh katogey'... They are spreading hatred among the people and trying to divide them."
Further slamming the BJP, Kharge added, "BJP is coming up with new slogans these days. I just want to ask, is there any danger in the country? If the country is in danger, it is from BJP-RSS. These are the people who talk about division and killing from morning to evening. We have always tried to keep the country united. Indira Gandhi ji was martyred for keeping the country united." (ANI)
