Delhi High Court

New Delhi (India), Nov 24, (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Thursday in an interim relief to the visually impaired candidates of the All India level Lower Division Clerk Exam put a stay on the result of the exam. The candidates had approached the court to seek its direction for a stay on the results and a re-examination of the Hindi Typing Test.
The decision was announced by the single judge bench of Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, who also directed the Union of India and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan -- who conducted the test on 13th November, to file their replies in this regard.
The petitioner alleged that there was should have been two types of the keyboards as per a notification of the conducting authorities but on the day of the exam, only one keyboard (In-Script) was made available to the candidates, the others had to do it on the Remington CBI keyboard. So, those who had prepared on the In-script keyboard failed to complete the test.
The petitioner, who is a visually handicapped candidate, through his counsel Advocate Ganesh Chand Sharma apprised the Court that the Respondent Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan in their Notice dated 18th May informed all the candidates qualified for Hindi typing test, that, the test would be conducted in Mangal Font i.e in Inscript Keyboard and Remington CBI keyboard.
The counsel of the petitioner argued that the candidates coming for the typing exam from all over India, who had prepared and practiced on Remington CBI keyboard failed to appear in typing exam because the choice of the said keyboard was not made available to them during examination and all candidates felt cheated.
The petition further claimed that many candidates wrote hundreds of emails to the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan but no satisfactory reply was given by KVS to the candidates.
While concluding the arguments the court stayed the declaration of results of the exam conducted by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and sought a reply from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Union of India till next date of hearing on 5th December.(ANI)
