Haryana [India], August 17 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated and dedicated to the people two major development projects worth Rs 2,000 crore that will directly benefit Haryana. These projects include the construction of two new four-lane connectivity roads to Sonipat and Bahadurgarh under the Urban Extension Road-2 project.

On this occasion, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed gratitude to the Central Government for its unprecedented contribution to Haryana and said that this day would be remembered as a golden chapter in the development story of Haryana, especially the NCR region. The Prime Minister inaugurated the Dwarka Expressway and UER-2 National Highway projects connecting Delhi and Haryana at a total cost of about Rs 11,000 crore, out of which projects worth Rs 2,000 crore will directly benefit Haryana.

The CM said that Haryana, being the industrial and agricultural hub of North India, would be the biggest beneficiary of these projects. He said these key projects will not only boost exports, imports and investments by ensuring direct connectivity from Kundli, Sonipat, Bahadurgarh, Gurugram and Manesar to Delhi Airport, but will also provide long-awaited relief from traffic congestion in the region.

While describing these projects as another milestone towards the vision of "Developed India - Developed Haryana", Nayab Singh Saini said that PM Modi's visionary approach, decisive leadership and unwavering commitment to development have elevated infrastructure growth in the country to unprecedented heights.

Furthermore, the CM said that under the leadership of PM Modi, India has emerged as the world's fourth-largest economy and is rapidly moving towards becoming the third-largest. He added that infrastructure development is taking place across the country in mission mode. Whether it is metro projects, freight corridors, expressways, mega bridges or the development of ports, unprecedented progress is being made in every sector.

He also said that PM Modi is creating an extensive network of roadways, railways and airways connectivity from Defence Corridors to Freight Corridors, from Bharatmala to Sagarmala. In addition, infrastructure projects across the country are being made more organised, modern and effective through the PM Gati Shakti Yojana.

Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for gifting Haryana with major development projects, CM Saini said that Narendra Modi has enriched the state with several ambitious and far-reaching initiatives. These include the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, Rail Coach Repair Factory, Kundli-Manesar-Palwal and Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressways, Gurugram-Sikanderpur and Faridabad-Ballabhgarh Metro Links, the country's first elevated railway track in Rohtak, the Rohtak-Maham-Hansi railway line, the National Cancer Institute at AIIMS Jhajjar, and AIIMS in Rewari.

He informed that Haryana has recently received the gift of a Metro Corridor from Rithala to Kundli. The Chief Minister said that these initiatives of the Prime Minister will give a new impetus to investment, employment and industrial development in the state, further strengthening Haryana's contribution to the national economy.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion. (ANI)
