Hardeep Singh Puri visits Indore, lauds cleanliness efforts in city

Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 8 (ANI): Union Home Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday engaged Indore residents in a free-wheeling interaction on diverse subjects.
The Union Housing and Urban Development Minister also congratulated the people of Indore for keeping their immediate premises and surroundings clean and tidy and ensuring that the city stays top on the cleanliness scale.
Taking to his official handle on social media platform X, the Union Minister posted, "In Indore today, engaging in meaningful conversations with the community, exploring diverse subjects & appreciating the enthusiastic participation. The integral role of enlightened citizens is pivotal in achieving the vision of a progressive New India guided by PM Narendra Modi-ji."
Addressing the audience during the interaction, Puri said, "The prices of petrol and diesel have increased by 60 to 70 per cent in countries around India. Petrol price in Pakistan has been raised to Rs 330 per litre. Petrol and diesel prices have increased by 40 per cent in the US, and Canada. In our country, however, the price of petrol has been decreased by 5 per cent."
Lauding the efforts of Indore's citizens towards cleanliness, the Union minister said, "I always have a special feeling when I come to Indore. It was just 2-3 days after I had assumed charge of the Urban Development Ministry that I visited Indore for an international conference. I spoke to the Japanese minister, asking him what he did after visiting India. He replied in Japanese that he was trying to find something. As I asked what he was trying to find, he said dirt. I asked him, 'Did you find it?' He said 'no'," Puri said.
"In 2014, petrol pumps (in Indore) were 193, it has grown to 305 this year. LPG distributors in the city have gone up by 35 per cent. CNG stations have increased by 571 per cent and LPG connections have also gone up by 28 per cent," he said.
The Union Minister also hailed the developmental works in Madhya Pradesh. (ANI)
