Haasan's MNM to contest 40 LS seats in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Feb 7 (ANI): Seasoned actor and Chief of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) Kamal Haasan said that his party is gearing up for contesting on all the 40 Lok Sabha seats located in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the upcoming Parliamentary polls. Though the actor didn’t disclose from where is he likely to contest the elections.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Feb 7 (ANI): Actor-turned-politician and president of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) Kamal Haasan on Sunday said that his party was gearing up for contesting all 40 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the coming Parliamentary polls.
Though the actor didn’t disclose from where is he likely to contest the election, he clearly indicated that he would not form an alliance with any 'tainted' group.
"Our aim is to not go with any tainted group. We are preparing to contest 40 seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. I cannot say at this moment from where I will contest," Haasan told media persons.
MNM was launched by Haasan on February 21 last year from his hometown of Rameswaram. As part of the launch of his political faction, Haasan toured Tamil Nadu extensively to interact with locals in different villages of Tamil Nadu. (ANI)
