Guwahati (Assam) [India], October 17 (ANI): As the Durga Puja festival approaches, Guwahati is abuzz with excitement.
Preparations for one of the most significant Hindu festivals are in full swing, with Puja organizing committees decorating their pandals with unique and diverse themes.
In its 69th year, the Chatribari Puja Celebration Committee in Guwahati has opted for a unique approach, featuring two themes for its Puja Pandal: television and retro music.

Debasish Das, Secretary of the Chatribari Durga Puja Celebration Committee, said that this year they will showcase the musical equipment and instruments in their puja pandal that became extinct.

"Every year we have taken a different theme by aiming to provide knowledge to the new generation. Last year, we had a library theme, and in 2021, our theme was ISRO. We are trying to give our puja pandal a new look. This year, we have taken two themes - Indian television and retro music. We are trying to showcase the musical equipment and instruments in our puja pandal this year that have become extinct, like the radio, gramophone, tape recorder, bioscope, old television, etc.," Das said.
He further said that they have been preparing for it for the last two months.
"Local artists have been engaged to make all things in the pandal, and we are trying to help them. Devotees and visitors will be able to see musical equipment, instruments, old televisions, radios, etc. in our puja pandal. Apart from it, the statues of music legends including Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Bhupen Hazarika, Lata Mangeshkar, Bishnu Prasad Rabha, and Manna Dey will also be displayed here," he said.
Durga Puja is one of the biggest festivals in India. This year the festival will be celebrated from October 20 to October 24. (ANI)
