Gurugram: Deepak Yadav accused of killing his daughter Radhika brought to city court

This is with regards to a shocking incident where a 25-year-old tennis player, daughter of Deepak (49), was shot dead by her father, allegedly over a disagreement regarding her tennis academy in Sector 57 in Gurugram.

Gurugram (Haryana) [India], July 11 (ANI): Gurugram police have taken key accused Deepak Yadav to the city court after he was arrested for killing his daughter Radhika, a tennis coach and national level player.
25-year-old Radhika Yadav was shot dead by her father, allegedly over a disagreement regarding her tennis academy in Sector 57 in Gurugram.
Sandeep Kumar, Gurugram Police PRO said, "Upon receiving the information, the Police reached the hospital and found that this was a 25-year-old girl named Radhika, a resident of Sector 57. The police later reached her home and discovered that she was a Tennis player and ran a Tennis academy."
Further, the PRO said, "Her father shot her dead. He has been arrested by the Police and, upon questioning, he confessed to the crime. The accused, Deepak, is around 49 years old. In a prima facie investigation, it has been found that the deceased ran a Tennis academy, due to which her father was upset. He had told her several times not to run the academy. He shot her dead over this. The deceased was a national-level player. The licensed weapon used to commit the crime has been seized. Further investigation is being done," informed the police on Thursday.
According to the police, Deepak Yadav, 49, confessed to the murder during initial questioning. He told the authorities that he was repeatedly taunted for depending on his daughter's earnings and had urged her several times to shut down the tennis academy she ran.
Meanwhile, the Police are also investigating a music video in which Radhika Yadav had played a part. As per sources Rekha's father had asked her to delete the video from her social media.
Additionally, the PRO also informed that the incident involved three bullets fired from a licensed revolver, which belonged to the accused father.
The police stated that Deepak confessed to the crime during questioning. "The father has confessed to the crime. The deceased was shot three times. Police teams have visited the spot. The reason behind the crime is that the deceased, Radhika, ran a tennis academy, and her father was against it," the police official added. (ANI)
