Gurugram: 24 new officers inducted into CRPF, passing out parade held

Gurugram: 24 new officers inducted into CRPF, passing out parade held

Gurugram (Haryana) [India], Oct 11 (ANI): The passing out parade of 48th batch of directly appointed gazetted officers of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was held here at CRPF Academy on Wednesday.

Wishing success to the 24 newly inducted officers, CRPF Director General (DG) Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar underlined the continuing success of the force in overcoming difficult challenges in Naxal affected areas, Jammu and Kashmir and in the insurgency ridden North-Eastern states.

He admonished the new recruits to harness all that they have learnt during their training process including 'emotional intelligence' in taking the challenging tasks ahead.

"The CRPF would stand to gain from this new batch which includes architects, engineers and doctor. The force always heads from the front in matters of internal security of the country," Bhatnagar told the media here.

These 24 officers have been selected from various states and different backgrounds.

Ghalib Mustafa Chaudhary, the only officer who hails from Jammu and Kashmir said, "I feel proud to join CRPF which is deployed all over the country and doing multifarious duties by fighting militancy in J&K, counter insurgency in NE and Anti naxal ops in LWE states."

Trophies for excellence in training were also awarded to these officers. Apart from this, DG CRPF also presented Police Medal for Meritorious Service to 25 Officer and men of the Force.

Retired officers and seniors of CRPF and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) were also present here on the occasion.

The Central Reserve Police Force, which came into existence as Crown Representative's Police in 1939.

CRPF has been serving the nation from past 77 years.

In year 2017, a total of 45 CRPF personnel lost their lives for the nation.

On August 15 total 57 medals including 2 KCs (01 posthumously), 02 SCs and 53 police medal for gallantry ( 02 posthumously) were handed out.

On Jan 26, 16 were given gallantry medals. (ANI)
