Gujarat Minister Harsh Sanghavi extends his wishes on occasion of Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra

As the celebrations for the annual Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra commenced on Sunday, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi extended his best wishes to the public on the auspicious occasion of the 147th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and lakhs of people have arrived to spot the Rath Yatra.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], July 7 (ANI): As the celebrations for the annual Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra commenced on Sunday, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi extended his best wishes to the public on the auspicious occasion of the 147th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and lakhs of people have arrived to watch the Rath Yatra.
He further stated that the technology has improved the traffic conditions in the city.
Addressing media persons on this auspicious occasion, Harsh Sanghavi said, "I extend my best wishes to all on the 147th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath. As usual, Home Minister Amit Shah performed 'Mangla Arti' at Jagannath Temple. Our Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel initiated the yatra in Ahmedabad. A huge throng of devotees along with their families arrived in Ahmedabad to witness this yatra and fulfil their wishes.
"In today's Rath Yatra, many technologies have been used by Ahmedabad and Gujarat Police which help in managing the traffic. You can see that, due to technology traffic has seen a good change. People are cooperating with us well. Today, around lakhs of people cleared the way for an ambulance. CM Patel is monitoring the situation of the Rath Yatra along with the officials from his office."
Earlier, in the day, the Jagannath Rath Yatra 2024 started in Ahmedabad with fanfare and excitement in morning.
Devotees gathered in large numbers.
Additionally, Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel and Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi also attended the Rath Yatra festival.
Patel performed the 'Pahind Vidhi'--the symbolic cleaning of the path for the chariot of Jagannath for the Rath Yatra.
Earlier today, 'Mangla Aarti' was performed by Union Minister Amit Shah, who was accompanied by his wife Sonal, at the temple.
More than 15,000 police personnel have been deployed for the 147th edition of the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, which is taking place in Ahmedabad today and attracts lakhs of devotees.
"Today, the 147th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath will take place. Rehearsals have been done for this Rath Yatra by the police. More than 15,000 police personnel have been deployed. Technology like CCTV and drone surveillance will also be used. Arrangements have been made so that the devotees do not face any trouble," said JCP Ahmedabad Police Neeraj Badgujar while giving the details of the Yatra. (ANI)
