Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], December 18 (ANI): A new, state-of-the-art Khaki Bhavan has been constructed at the Ahmedabad Rural Police Headquarters. It will be inaugurated on Thursday by the Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, along with several other key projects.
Through the Khaki Bhavan, many facilities that were available to IPS officers in the IPS mess have now been created for police personnel as well. In addition, the state's Ahmedabad district is set to undergo a complete digital transformation in policing. Innova cars will be equipped with body-mounted Face Recognition Cameras integrated with Artificial Intelligence. Beyond identifying wanted criminals, these cameras will provide real-time alerts to the police when suspicious activity is detected.
According to sources, a high-tech control room will be established near Sanand GIDC, with land already allocated. Moreover, to support the upcoming semiconductor plants, the control room will ensure there are no satellite interference interruptions. Dedicated teams of police and cyber experts will be deployed for specialised security operations.
In view of the possibility of large industries establishing operations in the newly expanding special zones of Sanand and Dholera in the coming days, the state government has entrusted the Ahmedabad District Police Chief, Om Prakash Jat, with ensuring world-class security. Regarding this, Jat stated that the 'ADR-Shield' platform would enhance security. This system will integrate the Human Resource Management System (HRMS), Dossier Management System, Daily Crime Report, and 'Abhay Yatri' for safety and management.
On similar lines, Dholera will become the country's first 3D-printed police station, with the machinery to be imported from Japan. High-tech drones will conduct night patrolling over semiconductor plants in Sanand GIDC, and during the day, half a dozen AI-equipped camera cars will monitor the area for suspicious activities and known criminals.
In addition, an HRMS portal has been developed to track approximately 1,400 police personnel in the district. This includes police data, as well as the identities and proof of identity of artisans working as labourers across the district, so that if someone is suspicious or runs away after committing a crime, they can be identified immediately.
