Gujarat: Deendayal Port Authority achieves landmark milestone with loading of first indigenous freight wagons

Kutch (Gujarat) [India], May 18 (ANI): Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) in Kandla, Gujarat, achieved a milestone by berthing vessel MV OLIVIA at Cargo Jetty No 15, marking the first-ever loading of indigenous "Made in India" freight wagons.
"Deendayal Port Authority, Kandla, is proud to announce a significant achievement in the Indian logistics and maritime sectors. The vessel MV OLIVIA berthed at Cargo Jetty No 15 at DPA Kandla, marking the first-ever loading of indigenous "Made in India" freight wagons. This milestone underscores the port's advanced infrastructure and operational excellence," as per a press release from the Deendayal Port Authority.

The vessel MV OLIVIA, arrived to load 24 packages of Gondola type wagons, with a gross weight of 454.104 metric tons. This consignment, exported by M/s Jindal Rail Infrastructure Limited from Karjan, Vadodara, Gujarat is destined to sail for Port of Nacala, Mozambique.
This groundbreaking consignment represents a major step forward in India's export capabilities, highlighting the country's growing prowess in manufacturing and logistics. The efficient handling and loading operations at Deendayal Port Authority reflect its commitment to facilitating international trade and supporting the "Make in India" initiative.
"On this achievement, Deendayal Port conveys a special thanks to all the Board Members, Stakeholders, Trade Unions, Port users, and employees for their whole hearted support and cooperation," the release stated.
