Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel inspects developmental works in the state

Mahisagar (Gujarat) [India], August 3 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Saturday, visited the site of development works of the state government at Balasinor in Mahisagar district.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel gifted 32 City Civic Centers to the citizens living in the municipal areas of the state at Balasinor in Mahisagar district. The purpose of setting up these City Civic Centers is to provide citizens living in cities easy access to municipal services from a single location, ranging from citizen-centric services to ease of living.
Spending minimal time to resolve various issues of citizens is not enough. These City Civic Centers have been operated as "One Stop Shops" for easy access to online facilities related to the Municipal Corporation.
Under the Golden Jubilee Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme, the concept of the City Civic Center has been implemented afresh in 2022-23. In the first phase, such city civic centres have been started in 22 municipalities. In the second phase, City Civic Centers have been approved in 66 more municipalities in the year 2023-24. These centres are to be operated by Gujarat Urban Development Corporation at an estimated cost of Rs 93.76 crore.
In this series, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel started the work of the City Civic Center in 31 municipalities from Balasinor. The cost of these city civic centres is Rs. It has been prepared for Rs 44.05 crore.
The Chief Minister unveiled the plaque of the City Civic Centre, visited the newly constructed Civic Center, inspected the facilities being provided there and also distributed forms and certificates to the applicants of the Civic Centre.
Such City Civic Center provides services like property tax, hall booking, tax assessment applications, marriage registration, trade tax and trade tax registration, birth and death records, notary licenses and others.
In this second phase of the launch of these 31 City Civic Centres, apart from Balasinor, Patdi, Kapadvanj, Botad, Thasra, Jetpur, Gondal, Sikka, Okha, Patan, Sidhpur, Unja, Dhanera, Mansa, Shehra, Halol, Anand, Petlad, Santrampur, Jhalod, Dharampur, Jambusar, Bardoli, Bilimora, Songadh, Mahuva, Kodinar, Visavadar, Babra, Palitana and Mangrol municipalities.
Earlier on Friday Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel granted in-principle approval for the allocation of rupees 144.32 crores for more than seven thousand rainwater harvesting projects in three zones--Northwest, Southwest, and West--of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
Under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation will plan these projects through the Private Society Public Participation Scheme (Khaangi Society Janbhaagidari Yojana). This scheme facilitates public welfare projects in private societies through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with a funding ratio of 70:20:10. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has received applications for rainwater harvesting projects from 7,497 societies, 3,180 in the Northwest zone, 1,617 in the Southwest zone, and 2,500 in the West zone.
Taking on to the social media platform X, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said "The government is moving forward in a planned way to collect rainwater and raise the groundwater level".
Under this, to carry out rainwater harvesting works in North West, South West and West Zones of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Rs. 144.32 crores were granted in-principle approval" he said in the post.
"Construction of percolating wells will be undertaken on a PPP basis in residential societies, multi-storied buildings, and apartments by taking up rainwater. (ANI)
