Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel champions animal welfare, natural farming at Gujarati New Year's Gau Goshthi ceremony in Bhavnagar

Bhavnagar (Gujarat) [India], November 4 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel attended the "Gau Goshthi" ceremony at Shri Sarveswar Gaudham Kobdi in Bhavnagar district, where he discussed the importance of natural farming and animal welfare, calling for greater environmental and health consciousness.
At the event, held on the occasion of Gujarati New Year, Chief Minister Patel highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative to improve animal health. He noted that animal health fairs started under Modi's guidance, demonstrate the government's commitment to ensuring veterinary care. "If we act with consideration for every living being, we will also receive the blessings of God," the Chief Minister was quoted as saying in an official press release. He also emphasised that animals now receive treatments, diagnoses, and vaccinations at state-run animal hospitals.
According to the press release, Patel advocated for natural farming as a solution to deteriorating soil and human health, stressing the urgency of addressing these issues. "Today, when soil and human health are deteriorating, we need to worry about our health by adopting natural farming," Patel stated. The press release added, "Calling for natural farming, the Chief Minister said that today when the health of the land and human beings is deteriorating, our Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi and Governor Shri Acharya Devvratji are also advocating natural farming based on native cows. We should adopt natural farming, and health must also be taken care of."
Patel further highlighted the cleanliness campaign initiated by Prime Minister Modi, urging everyone to embrace cleanliness in daily life. "Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi has started the cleanliness campaign across the entire country, so let's make cleanliness a habit and a ritual and keep our homes, courtyards, and areas clean and beautiful," the official statement quoted Patel as saying.
He also stressed the importance of building a developed Gujarat to contribute to a developed India by 2047, encouraging collective efforts toward this vision.
During the event, Union Minister Nimuben Bambhaniya praised the "double engine government" led by Modi and Patel, noting that the administration is actively working toward Gujarat's development. Bambhaniya also acknowledged the efforts of the organization and staff present, who facilitated healthcare services for sick animals at the event.
As part of the ceremony, the Chief Minister performed a prayer for Goddess Kamdhenu and toured various stalls displaying facilities for aged, blind, and sick cows, as well as stalls showcasing ambulances and an operating theater for animal care.(ANI)
