"Grave insult to India's global standing, national pride": BJP' Tarun Chugh criticises Rahul Gandhi's remarks in US

"Rahul Gandhi's visit has once again highlighted his routine engagement with anti-India propagandists and forces working against the nation's interests. His actions, along with his efforts to spread false narratives, are deeply concerning and represent a grave insult to India's global standing and national pride," said Tarun Chugh.

New Delhi [India], September 11 (ANI): BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Wednesday condemned the statements made by Rahul Gandhi during his recent visit to the US and alleged that the Congress leader's efforts to spread false narratives are 'deeply concerning' and represent a 'grave insult' to the country's global standing and national pride.
Chugh further added, "It is deeply regrettable that the entire Congress party continues to support his statements without any condemnation. Are there no voices within Congress with the sense and dignity to challenge such anti-national comments? Are there no leaders in Congress who take pride in our country? Their silence reflects the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of the party's leadership."
Adding to his statement, Chugh said, "Rahul Gandhi's divisive remarks and anti-national stance have once again exposed the true face of Congress. His ongoing statements on anti-reservation and anti-India agendas pose a serious threat to the unity and security of our nation. His damaging statements abroad, which undermine India's reputation, cannot be tolerated. The BJP remains fully committed to safeguarding national security and ensuring the protection of reservations for marginalised communities. As long as the BJP stands strong, no one will abolish reservations or compromise the integrity of our nation."
Chugh claimed that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party aligned with forces that seek to weaken India and that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has consistently undermined the nation's unity.
"It is becoming increasingly evident that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party have aligned themselves with forces that seek to weaken India. Whether it is supporting divisive agendas in Jammu and Kashmir or making anti-India remarks on international platforms, Rahul Gandhi has consistently undermined the nation's unity. His stance on abolishing reservations further highlights Congress's long-standing neglect of the SC, ST, and OBC communities. Congress's betrayal of these communities is well known, and their promises are mere empty promises aimed at securing electoral gains. If Rahul Gandhi's intentions were sincere, the Congress government would have addressed these issues during its tenure," Chugh said.
Chugh also addressed Rahul Gandhi's false claim that the NDA government seeks to abolish reservations, calling it a blatant lie. "Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the reservation system has been strengthened for the welfare and upliftment of Dalits, backward classes, and tribal communities. The Congress party, on the other hand, has consistently failed to deliver on its promises to these communities."
Chugh further criticised Rahul Gandhi for his baseless claim that the Sikh community in India is not allowed to practice their religion freely. "Such statements are factually incorrect and deeply insulting to the Sikh community, which has played a pivotal role in preserving and protecting India's cultural heritage. It is unbecoming of a leader of the opposition to make such reckless and false claims."
He also addressed Gandhi's misleading comments on the India-China border issue during his US visit. "Rahul Gandhi's statements do not reflect the reality of the situation and seem designed to please his anti-India allies. It is shameful that someone who holds the post of leader of the opposition of the nation continues to tarnish India's reputation on foreign soil."
Chugh referred to a recent headline in an American newspaper that questioned, "Is Rahul Gandhi from India or Pakistan?" This observation reflects the disturbing tone of his remarks abroad, which appear more aligned with anti-India forces than with the nation's interests. "Rahul Gandhi's behaviour has become a source of national embarrassment, and his repeated attempts to malign India on the global stage are an insult to the country and its people who take pride in our country."
Chugh condemned Rahul Gandhi's persistent anti-national statements and false narratives, calling them a disgrace to India's democratic values. "His actions are a black mark on Indian democracy. The BJP strongly condemns his divisive politics and reaffirms its commitment to the unity, security, and prosperity of India. The BJP believes in a 'Nation First' approach and takes immense pride in our nation."
This comes amid a row created by Rahul Gandhi's remarks in the United States.
Gandhi, who arrived in Dallas in September 8, also interacted with students and teachers at the University of Texas and addressed the members of the Indian diaspora in Dallas. (ANI)
