"Govt will investigate; be it foreigner or local, everyone's life is precious": BJP's Manan Mishra on Ahmedabad plane crash

Patna (Bihar) [India], June 12 (ANI): BJP Rajya Sabha MP Manan Kumar Mishra, on Thursday, emphasised that the government will investigate the reasons behind the crash incident of Air India Flight in Gujarat's Ahmedabad.
Speaking to ANI, Mishra termed the incident "very sad."
"Be it a foreigner or a local, a traveller is a traveller, and everyone's life is precious. This is a very sad incident. The government will investigate, and it is also making efforts to rescue. NDRF and other government units reached the spot immediately for the rescue," he said.

Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu arrived at the site of the Air India plane crash near Ahmedabad airport on Thursday to take stock of the situation.
"I am shaken by the tragic and horrific incident. I am still in a state of shock. The PM called me and asked me to be here at the site. At this time, I can only think of the passengers and their families. Many agencies have been engaged in rescue operations. I don't want to say anything about the numbers yet. We are extending all help. The Union Home Minister is also coming to the site here. Very sad to know that (BJP leader) Vijay Rupani was also there, and so were other nationals. We are going to do a fair and thorough investigation. We will go to the depths of why this incident happened," the Minister said.
"We are going to do a fair & thorough investigation, and probe why this incident happened. We still have to find out the numbers," he added.
The aircraft was under the command of Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, an LTC with 8,200 hours of flying experience. He was assisted by First Officer Clive Kundar, who had 1,100 hours of flying experience, the official said.
As per Air Traffic Control (ATC), the aircraft departed from Runway 23 at 1339 IST (0809 UTC). It gave a mayday call to ATC, but thereafter, no response was given by the aircraft to the calls made by ATC.
"Aircraft immediately after departure from Runway 23, fell on the ground outside the airport perimeter. Heavy black smoke was seen coming from the accident site," the official added. (ANI)
